Frequently asked questions

Which guide should I start with if I know nothing about the system?

Start with how to become a grassroots football coach in Spain. It gives an overview of the two pathways (federation UEFA and academic Sports Technician), timelines, costs and typical mistakes. Then jump to your region's guide for the specific federation and coaching school.

Do the guides cover both the federation and academic pathways?

Yes. Each guide explicitly states whether it applies to the federation pathway (UEFA C, B, A, Pro licences issued by the RFEF and regional federations) or to the academic pathway (Sports Technician from the Ministry of Education). Comparison and cost guides cover both.

How often are the guides updated?

We review the guides continuously. The lastReviewed field of each article shows the latest review date. When a federation changes URL, a new call opens or the BOE publishes a relevant rule (RD 320/2000, Orden EFP/892/2023, Article 167 bis RFEF), we update the affected guides.

Are there guides for futsal?

RD 320/2000 covers both Football and Futsal specialties on the academic pathway. Most RutaMister guides are written with 11-a-side football in mind, but the administrative steps (enrolment, homologation, convalidation, grants) are shared. For futsal-specific UEFA licences, check your regional federation's call.
