Where to look for courses in Aragon

The checkpoint for Aragon is the Real Federación Aragonesa de Fútbol (FAF), based in Zaragoza (Urbanización Parque Roma, Block I, ground floor). Its training arm is the Aragonese Coaching School (Escuela Aragonesa de Entrenadores), and for 2026/27 the venues split like this: UEFA C is only offered in Zaragoza (almost fully online), UEFA B runs in the three provincial capitals — Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel — and UEFA A returns to Zaragoza in dual format.

The FAF processes UEFA enrolments through academia.rfef.es, the RFEF national platform. To confirm current contact and website check the RutaMister federations page. The RFEF centralises the UEFA licence process, and for the academic Sports Technician route the Government of Aragon publishes the public-centre places every year.

UEFA calls open at the FAF for 2026/27

For the 2026/27 season the Aragonese Coaching School has calls at all three 11-a-side levels, with pre-registration open from 25/05 until 17/09/2026 and enrolment via academia.rfef.es:
  • UEFA C: €175, only in Zaragoza, classes from 21/09/2026 to 30/04/2027, Mondays 8 pm to 9 pm: 9 online classes on Zoom plus one in person. Requirements: being at least 16 and holding the ESO certificate or equivalent.
  • UEFA B: €625 in three instalments (€225 at pre-registration, €200 in October and €200 in November), delivered in Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel; course from 21/09/2026 to 30/09/2027, Mondays 6 pm to 10 pm, part online and part in person. It requires UEFA C plus at least 6 months of coaching experience.
  • UEFA A: €900 in three €300 instalments, in Zaragoza, course from 21/09/2026 to 30/09/2027 in dual format: you must be with a club from the start of the course holding a trainee coaching licence, on a team that also has qualified head and assistant coaches. It requires UEFA B plus at least one season of experience.
The offer is completed by the Nacional Experto (€1,800, requires UEFA A), the futsal courses (Nacional C €175, Nacional B €625 and Nacional A €800, with deadlines on 17 or 24/09 depending on the track) and two €250 specialisations: Football Coordinator and Football Analyst.

Before paying, confirm on the official listing at academia.rfef.es the total cost, the class calendar and the attendance rules of your specific group. If you do not have a club yet — essential for UEFA A given its dual format —, first check how the club requirement for placements works, and for the step-by-step process, how to enrol in a coaching course.

Minimum qualification per category

Minimum qualification per competition according to the FAF General Circular no. 3 chart for 2026/27. The quick rule: UEFA A is only mandatory at the top of territorial senior football (men's Regional Preferente); UEFA B covers Primera Regional, the top youth tiers (Juvenil Preferente and Primera Juvenil Group 1) and elite grassroots football (División de Honor and Autonómica at cadete and infantil level, plus Alevín and Benjamín Preferente); and UEFA C is enough for the rest, including all territorial women's football. In futsal the minimum is Nacional C across senior, youth and women's competitions.

The obligation is universal: article 100 of the General Regulations requires a qualified coach on every team playing official FAF competitions, and non-compliance is sanctioned (article 130 bis of the Disciplinary Regulations) with per-match fines of €60 in the first month, €120 in the second and €240 from the third onwards, capped at €6,000 per team and season. Assistant coaches need, at minimum, the UEFA C trainee licence, and the fitness coach, a CAFYD degree plus a football coaching qualification.

If you want an academic qualification with access to the Ministry grant, consider the Sports Technician: longer and more expensive, but with an official title. TD Level 1 equals UEFA B (TD Level 2 = UEFA A; TD Superior = UEFA Pro), per Article 167 bis of the RFEF Regulations. Compare both routes in Sports Technician vs UEFA licence.

Sports Technician and grants in Aragon

The academic Sports Technician in Football route is delivered in Aragon at three public centres, per the Government of Aragon annual call (Order ECD/700/2025 for the 2025/26 year): IES Ítaca in Zaragoza (with a distance-learning group and futsal too), CPIFP Pirámide in Huesca and IES Francés de Aranda in Teruel. Level I requires the ESO certificate plus the specific entry test; the Higher Level requires Bachillerato plus the Sports Technician title. Applications are filed in July, and the common block is taken with the Aragonese School of Sport (€90 plus a €6.96 insurance fee; the October 2026 call accepts registrations until 03/09/2026).

As for grants: the FAF has no scholarship in force for the 2026/27 UEFA courses — the only facility is paying UEFA B and UEFA A in instalments. The nearly 700 full UEFA C scholarships the federation once funded were a one-off centenary programme (2022/23 season), processed through clubs and not repeated since. The Sports Technician route at public centres does give access to the general Ministry grant (the 2026/27 application window closed on 18/05/2026; it reopens every spring). All funding options are covered in grants and scholarships for the coaching course.
