Futsal Nacional C Coaching Course: requirements and price

Last reviewed: 2026-08-22

The futsal Nacional C course is the entry tier of futsal's own federation pathway, run by each regional federation. It is a separate track from outfield UEFA C, not a step before or after it.

  • Age: 16 years old.
  • Academic: secondary education (ESO) or equivalent.
  • Other requirements: medical certificate.
  • Price: between €150 and €400 depending on the federation (€350 is the most repeated figure).
  • Next tier: UEFA Futsal B, run centrally at Las Rozas.

What Nacional C is, and why it is not the same as outfield UEFA C

The Diploma Nacional C de Entrenador de Fútbol Sala is the entry point to futsal's own training pathway: Nacional C → UEFA Futsal B → UEFA Futsal A. Unlike outfield UEFA C, which starts from UEFA-set minimum criteria, Nacional C is fully territorial: each regional federation designs and runs it, and the RFEF's centralised management only kicks in from UEFA Futsal B onward.

It is important not to mix up the two tracks: holding an outfield UEFA C licence does not qualify you to coach federation futsal, not even at regional level. They are parallel pathways, not sequential ones — you can start directly at Nacional C if your goal from day one is the futsal court. The full futsal pathway, with a category-by-licence table, is covered in how to become a futsal coach in Spain.

For the outfield category map (which does not apply to futsal), see what you can coach with UEFA C, B, A and Pro.

Specific enrolment requirements

The entry requirements for futsal Nacional C match what most regional federations ask for at the entry tier of futsal:

  • Minimum age: 16 years old at course start.
  • Education: secondary education (ESO) or equivalent.
  • Medical certificate: document confirming fitness for sporting activity.
  • Prior experience: not required for Nacional C. The UEFA Futsal B and A tiers do require experience accredited by the regional Coaches' Committee.

Always check your federation's official call before paying: paperwork can vary by autonomous community.

Cost: how much does futsal Nacional C cost?

The fee is set by each regional federation and varies significantly by venue and cohort. Most of the offer sits between €150 and €400: €350 is the figure that repeats across the most federations (Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, La Rioja, Las Palmas and the Valencian Community all share it), while Balearic Islands and Murcia, at €400, currently mark the ceiling.

  • Lower range: Madrid (€150), Aragon (€175) and Catalonia (€180).
  • Mid range: Cantabria (€195), Asturias (€275), Galicia, Extremadura and Tenerife (€300 each), Navarra (€325) and the Basque territorial federations (from €250 in Gipuzkoa to €350 in Bizkaia).
  • Upper range: Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, La Rioja, Las Palmas and the Valencian Community (€350), and Balearic Islands and Murcia (€400).
  • Multiple venues: Castilla y León runs several simultaneous editions at different prices, from a one-off €125 promotion up to €250.

One important nuance: do not assume futsal is systematically cheaper than outfield football. This range overlaps with the outfield UEFA C range and matches or exceeds it in several federations. Always compare both tracks in the price guide by level before deciding.

Where it is taught and how to enrol

Futsal Nacional C is called each season by practically every regional federation, through the academia.rfef.es platform or each federation's own portal (for example, the RFAF's PNFG system). There is no single venue: each federation runs its own editions, sometimes across several cities in its territory.

One thing to watch: the FFCV (Valencian Community) is currently the only federation labelling part of its futsal offer as «UEFA C» instead of «Nacional C» — while still running another edition of the same course under the «Nacional C» label, at the same price. It is a partial naming change, not an equivalence with outfield UEFA C: it remains the same futsal entry tier. Before enrolling, check the course call radar to see which federations currently have the course open, or go straight to your regional federation.

What it qualifies you for, and how to progress

Nacional C qualifies you to coach as head coach in regional futsal categories (from under-12 to local senior), per each federation's circular. It is a purely territorial ceiling: to manage in the Liga Nacional Juvenil de Futsal, Segunda B/Tercera Futsal or higher, you need UEFA Futsal B, run directly by the RFEF National Coaching School at Las Rozas.

The full category breakdown by futsal licence, plus the academic equivalences of Técnico Deportivo en Fútbol Sala, is in how to become a futsal coach in Spain. If you are coming from outfield football, that same guide explains what does and does not cross-credit between the two tracks.

Renewal and the refresher rule

Since 1 July 2025 the Continuing Education Certificate (15 hours of continuing training every 3 cycles) has been mandatory to keep a federation licence active. The rule applies to futsal in the same terms as outfield football: without an up-to-date refresher, the licence no longer lets you register as a coach, even though the original diploma stays valid.

Frequently asked questions

What is futsal Nacional C?

It is the entry tier of futsal's federation pathway in Spain: Nacional C → UEFA Futsal B → UEFA Futsal A. Each regional federation runs it independently, with no direct involvement from the RFEF National Coaching School, which only enters from UEFA Futsal B onward.

What requirements does futsal Nacional C ask for?

The usual minimums are 16 years old, secondary education (ESO) or equivalent, and a medical certificate of sporting fitness. No prior coaching experience or federation futsal playing history is required.

How much does futsal Nacional C cost?

Between €150 and €400 depending on the regional federation. €350 is the most repeated figure (Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, La Rioja, Las Palmas, Valencian Community); Balearic Islands and Murcia, at €400, mark the ceiling. Castilla y León runs several venues priced between €125 and €250. Compare with other levels in the price guide.

Does my outfield UEFA C count for futsal Nacional C?

No. They are separate pathways: outfield UEFA C does not qualify you to coach federation futsal, not even at regional level. It does not work the other way round either — futsal Nacional C does not qualify you to coach outfield football. You can start directly with whichever one you need, without taking the other first.

Is it available in every regional federation?

In practice, the large majority of regional federations call futsal Nacional C every season through academia.rfef.es or their own portal. The exact offer varies by season and federation, so confirm on the course call radar or directly with your regional federation before enrolling.

Why does it show as «UEFA C» in the Valencian Community instead of «Nacional C»?

The FFCV has started labelling part of its futsal offer as «UEFA C» on the enrolment platform, while still running another edition labelled «Nacional C» at the same price. It is a one-off, still-partial naming change, not an official equivalence with outfield UEFA C: it remains the same futsal entry-tier course.

What comes after futsal Nacional C?

The next tier is UEFA Futsal B, run directly by the RFEF National Coaching School at Las Rozas, with less frequent cohorts and access based on accredited experience. The full pathway up to UEFA Futsal A is detailed in how to become a futsal coach in Spain.

Do you need to renew a Nacional C licence?

Yes. Since 1 July 2025, a Continuing Education Certificate (15 hours every 3 cycles) is required to keep a federation licence active, the same as in outfield football. The diploma itself does not expire, but the licence that lets you register as a coach does.
