UEFA C

Initial federation licence
Approx. €300-400

The first step in the UEFA pathway. Focused on grassroots football: under-7 to under-16 (some federations allow regional youth). See full requirements.

Requirements

  • 16 years old
  • Secondary education (ESO) or equivalent
  • Medical and sexual offences certificates

Main Subjects

  • Grassroots coaching methodology and didactics.
  • Player development and youth characteristics.
  • Rules of the game, individual technique and basic tactics.
  • Session management and group leadership.
  • Mandatory placements at a federation club (ABR, 6 months).
Duration:Minimum 60 hours (UEFA). Approx. 6 months with placements.Official Fees

UEFA B

Intermediate federation licence
Approx. €600-1,100

Extends the ceiling to autonomous youth, Liga Nacional Juvenil, territorial senior amateur and women's Tercera RFEF as head coach. Professional equivalence: TD Level 1 (Article 167 bis RFEF Regulations). See categories by licence.

Requirements

  • Valid UEFA C licence
  • 6 months of coaching experience at a federation club

Main Subjects

  • Team management and advanced methodology.
  • Physical preparation and applied physiology.
  • Rules of the game and sports legislation.
  • Tactics and game systems (11-a-side football).
  • Sports medicine and first aid.

UEFA A

Advanced federation licence
Approx. €900-1,350

Qualifies you for Tercera RFEF, Segunda RFEF, División de Honor Juvenil and national women's football. Professional equivalence: TD Level 2 (full intermediate grade).

Requirements

  • Valid UEFA B licence
  • 1 year of experience as an 11-a-side coach

Main Subjects

  • Tactical analysis and advanced scouting.
  • Sports psychology and group leadership.
  • Season planning and periodisation.
  • Game model design.
  • Applied sports nutrition.

UEFA Pro

Maximum federation licence
Approx. €8,000-12,000

Mandatory to coach in Primera División, Segunda División, Primera RFEF and national teams. Professional equivalence: TD Superior (advanced grade). Since the CSD ratification in April 2025 (Article 167 bis), UEFA A can act as head coach in Primera Federación. See detailed prices.

Requirements

  • Current UEFA A licence
  • 24 months of experience holding UEFA A (some intakes 18)

  • Professional club and staff management.
  • High-performance training and technology.
  • Communication, media and press management.
  • Multidisciplinary team leadership.
  • Leadership in high-pressure environments.
